The Student Affairs Master Plan

Student success is the primary goal of Florida Memorial University. Achieving student success is the driving force behind our student affairs master plan, budgeting, and decision-making. Success is accomplished through a collaborative effort to achieve learning that actively engages students, faculty, and staff. Student involvement is how students learn. The greater the amount of time and thought invested, the greater the level of student involvement and success. Student success can be measured by identifying and clarifying student goals and expectations upon entry, assessing student progress and experiences through their courses, and evaluating student outcomes at the time of exit.

What Does an Academic Master Plan Do?  • The Academic Master Plan (AMP) describes the academic mission of an institution, which is used to drive the future of FMU. • The Academic Master Plan delineates the strategies needed to accomplish the academic mission of FMU. • The Academic Master Plan informs the office of the Provost and its planning processes. • The Academic Master Plan drives improvement processes for FMU.

IPACE Project ManagementProcess/Project IPACE – IPACE Project Management The key to a successful project is to IPACE it — that is, to Initiate, Plan, Activate, Control and End it the right way. Florida Memorial University has adopted a full life cycle project management process as the essential connective tissue that holds every projects together.

SMART is a mnemonic/acronym, giving criteria to guide in the setting of objectives, for example in project management, employee performance management, and personal development. The letters S and M generally mean specific and measurable. Possibly the most common version has the remaining letters referring to achievable (or attainable), relevant, and time-bound. However, the term’s inventor had a slightly different version and the letters have meant different things to different authors, as described below. Additional letters have been added by some authors.
